Colorado redshirt junior Val Constien won her section of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:47.97 to qualify second overall at the Division 1 West Regional at Sacramento State. Constien was 10th at the 2016 regionals in 10:09.89, before placing 22nd at the NCAA championship meet at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
