Houston senior Brian Barraza placed second in his section of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 8:41.49 at the Division 1 West Regionals at Sacramento State. Barraza, who qualified sixth overall, is expected to be an instrumental part of Houston's bid to win the NCAA team title at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
