Texas Tech senior Alaysha Johnson placed third in her 100-meter hurdles quarterfinal heat in a wind-legal 13.35 seconds at the West Regionals in Sacramento, Calif., to qualify for the June 6 national semifinals in Austin, Texas in both hurdles events, along with a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles quarterfinals in a personal-best 57.30 seconds. Johnson placed seventh at nationals last year in the 100 hurdles competing for Oregon.
